Job Summary of Warehouse Shift Supervisor:

The primary responsibilities of a Warehouse Shift Supervisor include overseeing day to day operations in a warehouse setting, including inventory control, order fulfilment, and logistics coordination. They are responsible for overseeing a team of warehouse workers, maintaining safety regulations, and optimising procedures to meet company goals.

Responsibilities for Warehouse Shift Supervisor:

• Tasked with managing and directing a team of workers within a warehouse setting, with responsibilities that include overseeing the intake, storage, and distribution of customer products while adhering to prescribed service levels and cost targets.
• Manage and synchronize the most effective unloading process for received shipments, methodical arrangement of merchandise, and the collection and arrangement of outbound orders while maintaining top-quality standards.
• Verify the accuracy and integrity of inbound and outbound shipments.
• Responsible for overseeing the safe and effective use of all material handling machinery.
• It is essential to uphold a clean and orderly work environment and comply with security regulations.
• Ensure that associates comply with all safety policies and procedures without fail.
• Diligently probe and inform about any safety mishaps and infractions without delay.
• Carry out tasks following OSHA and MSDS guidelines and protocols.
• Uphold the necessary protocols to guarantee food safety.
• Coordinate the functions of the designated work team to accomplish predetermined targets.
• Conduct shift meetings.
• Make sure to comply with all guidelines and steps.
• Develop and organize assignment schedules and distribute tasks to ensure there is a suitable number of staff members available to efficiently complete activities and handle varying work pressures.
• Keep accurate work logs and summaries covering details like staff hours and salaries, daily sales figures, or outcomes of assessments.
• Assess the performance of staff members and develop evaluations to document their achievements and areas for improvement.
• Offer advice to staff members regarding work responsibilities, individual progress, or vocational growth.
• Propose or commence personnel activities, such as elevations, shifts, or corrective steps.
• Determine the instructional necessities of the staff and coordinate or offer relevant training.
• Handle personnel conflicts, concerns, or formal complaints internally, aiming to resolve them or redirect them to higher-ranking authorities if necessary.

Qualification for Warehouse Shift Supervisor:

• HS Diploma, Associates Degree Preferred
• 3+ years supervisory or warehouse experience; or successful completion of Americold's internship program
• Bachelor's degree.
• Maintain forklift certification.
• Ability to perform the same work duties as those supervised or performs more difficult or skilled tasks or assist in their performance.
• Ability to supervise employees.
• Ability to work in fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively with variety of individualso Ability to pay close attention to detail.
• Strong interpersonal skills and judgment in communicating with staff.
• Must be able to relate to others beyond giving and receiving instructions: they must get along with co-workers without exhibiting behavioral extremes; perform work activities requiring reasoning, negotiating, instructing, persuading, or speaking with others; and respond appropriately to criticism from a manager.
• Willingness to develop a mentoring relationship in order to contribute experience, skills, and wisdom to subordinate employees for their development.

• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Proven ability to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously.
