Job Summary of Forklift Service Technician:

The primary duty of a Forklift Service Technician is to identify, repair, and upkeep forklifts and other material-handling equipment to ensure secure and efficient operations. This entails diagnosing problems in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, conducting preventative maintenance, and ensuring compliance with safety guidelines.

Responsibilities for Forklift Service Technician:

• Conduct maintenance and repair services on material handling equipment in the warehouse, covering both routine and advanced tasks.
• Provide maintenance aid to ensure operational targets are achieved. Carry out troubleshooting and servicing on material handling equipment and other powered industrial machinery as designated.
• Offer oversight and monitoring for third-party service providers.
• Conducts detailed analysis of MHE electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems to troubleshoot and resolve complex problems effectively. Renews or changes key parts like the mast, undercarriage, transmissions, and engines/motors when required.
• Carries out preventive upkeep, fixing, and calibration of material handling devices.
• Keeps batteries and chargers operational, following OSHA standards to maintain their working condition.
• Utilizes tools like voltmeters, ohmmeters, and other testing devices to assess and preserve the efficiency of equipment.
• Testing safety gear to adhere to OHSA and operational standards is imperative. Accurate maintenance records are upheld in the CMMS software to track preventative measures efficiently.
• The individual ensures the workspace and tools are optimized using the 6S strategy, which includes well-maintained and orderly conditions. They also conduct necessary cleaning tasks when needed. Moreover, they carry out relevant assignments and any other mandated job roles. Additionally, they share expertise, mentor, and aid in the progression of inexperienced technicians.

Qualification for Forklift Service Technician:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
• 4 years' maintenance experience with a minimum of 2 years' as an MHE technician.
• Formal MHE technical training, such as Hyster, Crown, Toyota, or Raymond, preferred.
• Strong work experience will be considered in lieu of Training Courses during the initial hiring process.
• Required train in HAZMAT, obtain and maintain the certification.Knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management System (SAP Preferred).Basic computer skills required (email, internet searches, basic data entry, etc.).
• Microsoft Office Suite knowledge.What Could Set You Apart Fully competent in MHE knowledge.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Mathematical and documentation skills necessary.Ability twork with hands in mechanically oriented situations.
• Ability tfollow verbal and written instructions.
• Must be able twork flexible shifts, if required, including on call.
• Ability ttroubleshoot and diagnose down tthe component level on all material handling equipment.
• Must show proficiency in SAP PM (CMMS) with respect ttheir duties and responsibilities within 60 days.
